SHINee’s Onew is thankful towards T-ara’s Boram for liking him

Standard

SHINee’s Onew expressed his thankful feelings towards T-ara’s Boram on an episode of KBS 2TV’s “Nocturnal.”

The episode focused the members of the “Nocturnal” team helping to draw a mural on a dirty wall of an elementary school, and T-ara and IU made surprise visits as guests and joined the team to help out.

The MCs were more than happy with the extra help and provided them with snacks such as ddukboki (hot rice cakes) and fish cakes.

During the meal, Shin Dong Yeob and Yoon Jong Shin suggested Onew feed the snacks to the female celebrity (that was present) he has the most interest in. Without hesitation, Onew declared that he “had a person he’s always wanted to give to,” surprising the MCs.

The target of his affections turned out to be Boram, leading to a ‘rose colored’ atmosphere as Boram shyed away while the T-ara members revealed, “Boram has always been a hardcore fan of Onew.”

Onew answered, “I already knew that she was my fan through reading articles. I’ve always wanted to thank her for saying that she likes me.”

The episode will broadcast on December 19th at 11:15 PM.

SHINee’s Onew makes Jung Hyung Don cry with his special skill

Standard

Gagman Jung Hyung Don shed some tears on MBC’s “For the First Time“ after being playfully flicked on the forehead by SHINee’s Onew.

After hearing of Onew’s ‘ddak-bam‘ power (giving a clout by flicking one’s middle finger against their thumb, or by pulling back the middle finger and snapping it back against a forehead), Jung Hyung Don challenged Onew to deliver one as so that he may feel the strength of Onew’s skill. Unfortunately, the force Onew delivered was too much to handle, and Jung ended up tearing right then and there, causing the studio to roar with laughter.

Onew then revealed that he could even crack walnuts with his ‘ddak-bam’ skill, and proceeded to crack a few on the show. Considering that, he probably went a little easy on Jung Hyung Don.

In corner that later followed, in which celebrities confessed their current worries, Onew stated, “My ‘ddak-bam’ are getting weaker,” while Minho admitted, “My face is too small“; Taemin wrapped up the corner by glibly saying, “My feet are too small.

The episode will air on December 8th.

SNSD’s Jessica expresses her affection for SHINee’s Onew

Standard

SNSD’s Jessica expressed her affection for SHINee’s Onew on the November 28th episode of KBS 2TV’s “Nocturnal Variety.”

Fellow member Hyoyeon first began talking about Onew in comparison to the traits of her ideal man, by stating that he fit only two of her three desired traits, the third being humor.

Jessica retorted, “Onew is so nice and caring. It doesn’t matter if he’s not humorous because I’m not humorous either,” showing her affectionate feelings for him.

She continued, “Onew and I sang a duet song together once. I like people that sing well, and Onew sings well and has a nice voice.”

The two then went on to sing their duet song on the spot, leading MC Shin Dong Yeob to comment, “Jessica never took her eyes off of Onew the entire time they were singing.

Jessica gave her characteristically chic reply, “Well, I see him every day so of course I stare at him while singing.

Onew makes another mistake on Music Core

Standard

SHINee’s Onew is recently receiving a little bit of disappointment from fans because of his inexperienced MC skills.

On the 20th, this idol hosted MBC’s Music Core as an MC along with SHINee’s Minho, T-ara’s Jiyeon and miss A’s Suzy. Up until recently, Onew received a lot of love from the audience as a commendable MC with his unique expressions and charms. However, last week the idol showed some nervousness in his script reading and had a few mistakes. Although fans hoped to see Onew recover this week, he showed even more problems as an MC this week.

Towards the end of Music Core, Onew made a mistake by asking, “Who is the last stage?” when the ending stage was already introduced as SNSD a few seconds earlier. The other MCs including Minho, Suzy and Jiyeon looked straight at Onew with blank expressions. Onew who realized his mistake said quickly, “It’s SNSD…” in an attempt to get rid of the awkward atmosphere. Furthermore, Onew’s nervousness showed throughout the show as he dropped his script by accident and concluded the show while staring down at his foot where the script had dropped, causing fans to feel sympathetic towards the singer.

Meanwhile, today’s Music Core participants include comeback specials by B2ST, Kara and Orange Caramel, along with other performances by SNSD, 2NE1, 2AM and others.

After much controversy the last time they performed at a film awards ceremony, the SNSD girls were back on stage again and they were without Tiffany as she is laid low with injury. The girls performed ‘Hoot‘ and ‘Genie‘, with the actors giving excellent reactions when the cameras panned to them.

Watch out for a surprise cameo by actress, Song Yun Ah.

List of Winners (Major)
=================
Best Film – Poetry
Best Screenplay – Poetry
Best Director – Lee Chang Dong (Poetry)

Best Supporting Actor – Yu Hae Jin (Moss)
Best Supporting Actress – Yun Yeo Jeong (The Housemaid)

The awards ceremony broadcast was delayed, after the broadcaster chose to show the men 1,500m freestyle swimming final in which national swimmer, Park Tae Hwan, was partaking, and won the silver medal. The rating for the swimming event was 34.8%, so it seems like they made a good decision.

Park also anchored the relay team in the last race of the swimming competition, as the Koreans won the silver medal in the 4×100 men’s individual medley relay in a dramatic finish.

Lena Park to make a comeback + duet performance with Onew

Standard

After taking a temporary break in order to focus on her academics, Lena Park (Park Jung Hyun) will finally return to the stage with a new special album! Titled “Cover Me Vol. 1“, the album is scheduled to release on November 18th, and will contain her previous hit tracks from the 1st to her 3rd album.

Additionally, during the recording for MBC’s “Beauty Concert“, Park Jung Hyun performed a duet track with SHINee’s Onew. In order to put on a stellar collaboration with Park Jung Hyun, Onew squeezed in as much time as he could to prepare for the performance, despite his already crammed schedule.

At the ‘Beauty Concert’, Park Jung Hyun performed “Vincent” as well as a swing version of “You Mean Everything To Me.” She and Onew later serenaded the audience with Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat’s “Lucky.”

MBC’s ‘Beauty Concert’ will air on November 20th, but in the meantime, check out this fancam of the duet performance! (…unfortunately Lena is nowhere to be found in it, since the camera holder appears to be an avid Onew fan, but we’ll update later with another video!).
